On Ambitions!

Unless I spread out my wings in the sky,
How do I know how far I can fly?

I wish...

I would’ve never forgotten you.
You were the nicest guy I knew.
Wonder why we parted ways.
I don’t believe what everyone says.

On lonely days, I still think of you;
And the lost memories flash anew.
Wonder where in the world you are
And if you still gaze at that star.

I wish I had known you better.
I wish I had knit you that sweater.

You were the first to mention ‘we’
Then, why so soon, did you leave me?

I wish you hadn't gone to the war.
I wish life hadn’t taken you so far.

Dejected!

My hopes soar as a bird in the sky.
But they say I am just a small fry.
Some day, I will be shown the door.
Like me, there are hundreds or more

A chance almost lost!

Worried and anxious here I sit.
Into or just out of the pit?
How to untangle this mess I wonder.
Did I just make a blunder?
My hopes continue to soar;
Wonder if I should've said more.

The world out there!

In this world of deceit and lies,
There are few profound ties.
In a world where hopes are crushed,
And the voices of the weak, are hushed,
We try to create our oasis of trust,
With the compassionate and the just.
Let our dreams soar, we must,
To make sure our hopes don’t rust.
